Steve Mims

Steve Mims

Chief Executive Officer

Steve Mims knows financial management. He has provided over twenty years of successful leadership in the areas of billing operations, contract negotiations, strategic planning and business valuations.

Bringing extensive revenue cycle knowledge accumulated through his past experience, including executive director of financial services, president and chief executive officer, practice administrator roles across physician practices and payors, Steve’s relentless focus is the business and operational success of our clients.  

Steve is an active member of RBMA and has served as a past board member of the RBMA. As a former radiology practice administrator, Steve brings unique knowledge and experience to our clients with his expertise in hospital joint ventures, vendor relations, payor contracting and group dynamics.

Nicole Jones-Gerbino​

Nicole Jones-Gerbino, FRMBA

President

Nicole Jones-Gerbino, FRBMA is a nationally recognized leader in radiology practice management, healthcare operations, and revenue cycle strategy. As President and co-owner of PBS, Nicole advances organizational vision through innovation, revenue cycle excellence, operational performance, and physician advocacy within radiology. With more than 25 years of experience, she helps imaging organizations improve financial performance, operational efficiency, and long-term growth.

Nicole’s leadership background spans both radiology practices, including some of the largest in the country, and major health systems, providing a unique perspective on the challenges facing radiology leaders today. Prior to PBS, she led revenue cycle and outpatient operations for a large multi-site imaging practice and later held senior leadership roles at UC San Diego Health, overseeing revenue integrity, strategic affiliations, provider network development, and growth initiatives.

A frequent national speaker, writer, and educator known for her practical approach and deep industry expertise, Nicole presents on revenue cycle management, practice operations, leadership, AI, physician advocacy, and the future of radiology. She serves on the RBMA Board of Directors and holds the Fellow (FRBMA) designation.

Desiree Overcast

Chief Operations Officer

Desiree Overcast leads PBS’s operational teams and plays an integral role in client implementation, technology integration, and operational performance. With nearly two decades of experience in radiology and more than 16 years at PBS, she brings extensive expertise in radiology practice workflows, operations, and healthcare technology.

Desiree began her radiology career in 2007 at a large imaging center, where she led IT administration before joining PBS in 2010. Her background provides a unique combination of operational and technical knowledge, including a keen understanding of RIS, PACS, EMR, and HL7 interfaces.

Having worked directly within an imaging center environment, Desiree understands the day-to-day challenges radiology practices face. She applies that perspective to streamline, automate, and advance PBS workflows and systems, helping clients achieve greater operational efficiency and technical integration.

Desiree leverages a hands-on approach and deep industry experience to help deliver operational and technology solutions that support the evolving needs of radiology practices.

Kara Connor

Kara Connor

Chief Strategy Officer

Kara Connor leads strategic planning, growth initiatives, and enterprise alignment across the organization. With over 20 years of experience in healthcare, 14 years in radiology, Kara brings deep industry insight and a proven ability to drive sustainable growth at scale.

Kara has led the development and expansion of PBS’s national brand, shaping its identity, messaging, and market presence. She oversees business development, sales, and marketing efforts, guiding strategy and execution to support continued growth and strengthen partnerships across the country. Kara ensures alignment between the organization’s strategic vision, operational priorities, and core values. She is known for connecting strategy to execution, building scalable systems, fostering collaboration, and driving initiatives that position PBS for long-term success.

Michael Gonzales

Michael Gonzales, FRMBA

Executive Director of Client Services

Michael Gonzales, FRBMA, is the Executive Director of Client Services at PBS and a respected healthcare revenue cycle leader with more than 30 years of experience serving radiology practices, imaging centers, and health systems. He serves as a strategic advisor to more than 20 radiology groups nationwide, helping organizations improve financial performance, strengthen operational processes, and achieve long-term goals.

Over the past decade at PBS, Michael has partnered with physician leaders and healthcare executives on revenue cycle optimization, payer strategy, compliance, performance analytics, and patient financial experience initiatives. Prior to PBS, he spent 15 years as Director of Billing for Radiological Associates of Sacramento; later, he served as Regional Revenue Cycle Manager following the practice’s acquisition by Sutter Health, where he helped guide the successful integration of operations, systems, and teams during a significant organizational transformation.

Michael is a Fellow of the RBMA, serves on the Oregon RBMA Board of Directors, and contributes to industry initiatives through the RBMA Data Committee. Outside of work, he enjoys backpacking, travel, and exploring new dining experiences, whether at a neighborhood food truck or a world-class restaurant.

Andrew Mims

Andrew Mims, MBA

Director of Finance

Andrew Mims, Director of Finance, has served with the PBS team for seven years, supporting financial strategy, budgeting, forecasting, projection modeling, data analysis, and performance initiatives across the organization.

With a strong background in finance, operations, and business systems, Andrew focuses on driving process improvements and operational efficiency. He works closely with organizational leaders to develop analytical approaches that support informed decision-making and performance optimization.

Andrew has played a key role in developing reporting systems, analysis frameworks, and auditing tools that enhance visibility, accountability, and operational insight for both PBS and its clients.

Known for his analytical approach and commitment to continuous improvement, Andrew helps translate complex financial and operational data into actionable information that supports organizational performance and strategic planning.

Shay Kelly

Shay Kelly

Executive Director of Information Technology

Shay Kelly is our software and technology delivery expert. Her broad experience spans across multiple size companies and infrastructure to provide advanced technology for our clients and working environments for our team. Shay’s military background brings a commitment to excellence as she leads PBS’s information technology initiatives.

Her 13 years of practical experience in information technology, strong technical background, and enthusiasm for continuous improvement deliver optimized system platforms and software development to PBS.

As a founding ImagineSoftware employee working in multiple roles for over a decade, Shay’s specialization in radiology blended with her development expertise positions her perfectly to lead our team of recognized Imagine super users.

Landi Marriott

Landi Marriott

Executive Director of Implementations

Landi Marriott is our transition execution expert. With technical and project planning expertise, Landi has been a critical member of PBS management for 15 years. Landi’s tenure working with the ImagineSoftware platform as a recognized super user helps PBS achieve smooth transitions for our clients. Landi and her team work with our clients from discovery and onboarding through implementation to ensure success. She is responsible for the seamless integration of our clients – whether they are coming from major vendors or in-house billing operations.

Lynda Murdock

Lynda Murdock

Executive Director of Human Resources

Lynda Murdock engages employees and builds successful teams. Through her expertise, PBS recruits and retains top talent in 13 states. Lynda is a talented advocate for our employees, promoting professional growth at PBS through mentorship, training, and education for our teams.

Lynda is a human resources professional who has a passion for inspiring others to succeed through education and professional development. She has successfully aligned human capital with strategic performance goals within organizations in hospitality, healthcare, education, and global manufacturing, using her 20 years of human resources experience in organizational development and strategy, employee engagement, recruitment, and employee relations.

Angie Wardlaw, CPC, CMPE

Director of Client Services

Angie Wardlaw is a results-oriented, purposeful leader with over 20 years of accomplishments in healthcare operations and revenue cycle management. Angie is known for her creative and solution-driven skills and leads by building solid relationships with internal and external customers. She is passionate about helping others, streamlining processes, and producing effectual transformations. 

Before joining PBS as a Client Services Director, Angie has been a vital member of the executive leadership team in both operational and revenue cycle roles in radiology and multi-specialty physician practice groups in North Carolina.

Gregory D. Wertz, MS, CMPE

Director of Client Services

Greg Wertz is a seasoned client-centric healthcare executive with over 25 years of leadership experience in revenue cycle management, regulatory affairs, and practice operations. As a Certified Medical Practice Executive (CMPE), he has guided radiology practices nationwide in optimizing financial performance, streamlining workflows, and ensuring compliance with evolving federal programs such as MIPS and MACRA.

Greg has spearheaded large-scale transitions to new reporting platforms, developed advanced data analytics tools, and delivered thought leadership through webinars, publications, and national speaking engagements. Known for his strategic vision and collaborative approach, he excels in driving measurable outcomes for clients while fostering team development and operational excellence

Romi Goodwin, CMPE

Director of Client Services

Romi Goodwin is an experienced healthcare executive with over 25 years in radiology practice and revenue cycle management, specializing in supporting multi-site healthcare organizations. As a Director of Client Services, she combines deep operational expertise with a client-focused approach to navigate complex regulatory, payer, and reimbursement environments.

A Certified Medical Practice Executive and industry leader, she is known for driving operational improvements, strengthening payer relationships, and delivering sustainable results through collaborative leadership.

Laura Manser, CPC, CPCO, CDEO, CPMA, CEMC, CIRCC, RCC

Director of Provider Education

Laura Manser turns complexity into clarity. As Director of Provider Education at PBS Radiology Business Experts, she brings over 25 years of radiology expertise to one of the most specialized roles in the industry, bridging the gap between clinical documentation and coding accuracy, compliance, and revenue performance.

A nationally recognized radiology subject matter expert, Laura holds one of the most comprehensive credentialing portfolios in radiology coding, with certifications from both AAPC and RCCB spanning coding, auditing, compliance, documentation improvement, and evaluation and management. This breadth positions her to see the full picture, and to teach it effectively.

Laura designs and delivers targeted education programs for coders and physicians alike, equipping teams with the knowledge to improve documentation quality, reduce compliance risk, and optimize reimbursement. Her proactive leadership, dedication to continuous improvement, and deep commitment to excellence make her a trusted partner to providers and practices navigating the ever-evolving landscape of radiology coding and compliance.

Stephanie Miller

Sales and Marketing Manager

Stephanie Miller leads strategic marketing and business development efforts at PBS, focused on positioning the organization’s business experts as a trusted revenue cycle partner for radiology groups navigating growth, operational challenges, and partner evaluation.

Stephanie has over 22 years of experience in healthcare business development, including more than 16 years focused specifically in radiology. She has held leadership roles across radiology practices and hospital-based imaging environments, giving her a well-rounded, market-informed perspective on how radiology groups operate within the larger healthcare landscape and what they prioritize when evaluating partners.

Her experience includes contributing to growth and expansion across diagnostic imaging environments. At PBS, she applies that perspective to help radiology groups better understand their options when evaluating revenue cycle partners by building trusted relationships that support informed, long-term decision-making aligned with their priorities.
